Enzymatic exfoliation of the outermost layer of dead cells leaves the skin fresh and renewed. It is helpful for those with facial blemishes, wrinkles or uneven skin pigmentation. Hydroxy acid, one of the glycolic, salicylic or lactic acids by Ayur-Medic, is applied, to remove dead outer skin. The appropriate hydroxy acid is selected based on skin condition and type. The application is completed with toner and moisturizer. Some hydroxy acids are safe for ethnic skin, and are useful for softening and opening pores prior to extractions. Not available for those with sensitive, couperose or rosacea skin conditions or hypo-pigmentation. Chemical peels are also not available for users of Retin-A or similar products.
